Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Grant

Awarded by Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

In 2016 Prevention Works was awarded this prestigious federal grant to increase collaborations and reduce youth substance abuse in Astoria and Warrenton. The grant brings in $125,000 annually for up to ten years to build community capacity and address the environment, or community, where substance abuse happens.

Community Wellness Investment Fund

Awarded by Columbia Pacific Coordinated Care Organization (CCO)

Since 2015, the Columbia Pacific CCO has awarded Prevention Works with funding to do the mORe social norms campaign through out Clatsop County. This initiative is based on the Positive Cultural Framework. Current funding for $15,000 annually will continue through 2019.

Warrenton Hammond Healthy Kids, Inc

Our ability to purse and sustain funding is made possible by our fiscal agent Warrenton Hammond Healthy Kids, Inc (WHHK).

WHHK is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to partner with schools, teachers and staff in identifying children in need and providing kid-friendly nonperishable food that is distributed discreetly at school at the end of every week.

WHHK exists to be a resource and a safety-net for local schools in providing financial, physical and nutritional support for those children whose basic needs, are not being adequately met.
