On August 18, 2017 Prevention Works hosted Core Essentials for Coalitions, featuring Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) trainer Teresa Bishop. This training provided an overview of the Strategic Prevention Framework, an evidence-based model used by community coalitions awarded the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant. This model recognizes that every community is unique, and the solutions to substance abuse issues need to be as well.
The training was attended by 38 coalition and community members invested in youth development and substance abuse prevention. There were representatives from businesses, local government, health care professionals, social service providers, youth-serving organizations, and more.
Thank you to those who attended! Prevention Works is excited to engage community leaders is creating a healthier, safer Clatsop County.
